Ethel A. (Drehmer) VanDerhoff Obituary
SAVONA, NY.; Ethel A. (Drehmer) VanDerhoff, 81, passed away on Thursday September 6, 2018 at the Elcor Nursing Home in Horseheads, NY. Ethel was born on October 17, 1936 in the Town of Orange, the daughter of the late F. Ralph and Ethel E. (Stoddard) Drehmer.

She graduated from Savona Central School. She worked at Corning Glass Works after graduation. Ethel married Richard VanDerhoff and lived in (Sonora) Savona.

Ethel retired after 25 years from Savona Central School as secretary to the Guidance Counselors and then the Superintendent. She Volunteered at the Bath VA, Bath Legion, the Tour Booth, the Savona Federated Church and the Campbell-Savona School reading program.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Dick, a daughter Babette and a son Alan, her brothers Francis "Red", Harvey, Reul, Mark, Donald and sisters Ellen Royce, Virginia Miller, Doris Baer, Muriel Snyder and Barbara Eldridge.

She is survived by her sons Kenneth (Nikki) VanDerhoff of Cortland, NY., Terry (Betty) VanDerhoff of Savona, NY., Aaron (Joy) VanDerhoff of Bath, NY., son-in-law Chris Jones of Bath, NY., sister-in-laws Ursula Clark, Elva Fritz, brother-in-law Jack (Kay) Coombs, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren 1 great great grandson, several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are being observed on Friday September 14, 2018 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Savona Federated Church where her Funeral Service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 4:00pm with Reverend Nate Cooper Officiating. Burial will be held at Seamans Cemetery Savona, NY.

The family wishes to thank all the care takers at Elcor Nursing home for their wonderful care.
