Leon "Rory" Turner
LAFAYETTE - Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 10:00 AM in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Leon "Rory" Turner, 38, who passed away in his sleep on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at his home in Lafayette. Pastor Nick Daniels of Family Life Church in Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services. Sharee Hunter, organist and soloist, will sing for the services.
Survivors include his fiancée, Natasha Schexnayder; his mother, Cobie Ann Turner; two sisters, Courtney Beth Turner and her fiancé Jared Tucker and Brittany Jade Turner and her partner Laura Lee Lacombe; three children, Daxx Michael Turner, Korbin Gib Turner and Kaylix Morgan Turner and their mother, Sherry Louviere Turner; one nephew, Pierson Jared Turner; his grandmother, Deanna Breaux; and numerous cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert J. Turner; paternal grandparents, Leonce and Susan Turner; and his maternal grandparents, L. J. Richard and Annabelle Baldwin.
A native of New Iberia and a resident of Lafayette, Rory as he was most affectionately known, worked for LEAD-N.D.T. out of Broussard. He was a kid at heart and loved to laugh. Rory will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE Lafayette location on Friday, June 29, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made under Courtney B. Turner and Brittany J. Turner, Rory's sisters, at Chase Bank.
