Etta Barber Obituary

Etta Pearl Domingue Barber

SCOTT - On July 29, 2013, the pearly gates of heaven opened wide to receive a special woman. Etta Pearl Domingue Barber, (age 78) born July 18, 1935 passed away on July 29, 2013 following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Scott.

Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

Reverend Charles E. Lewis will conduct the funeral services. Eulogists will be Frank Barber and Aimée Noël Barber.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 57 years, Charles Leroy Barber; four daughters, Collette Zayor, Anita Louise Handley, Nola Jane Brennan and Aimée Noël Barber; six sons, David, Daniel, Louis, James, Kelly and Frank Barber; two sisters, Sarah Spence and Nettie Trahan; three brothers, Gerald, Richard and Ronnie Domingue; fifteen grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Basile Barber; and her parents, Oran Antoine Domingue and Nola Richard Domingue.

Etta Pearl, an extremely intelligent, witty and wise woman had many facets to her life, but faithful would top the list. Faithful first to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who she affectionately referred to by his Hebrew name, Yeshua Hamashiach, Jesus the Messiah, preaching His gospel to anyone that would listen and some that did not want to listen. Her relationship with the Lord brought her through this life and now she is the arms of her savior.

Etta Pearl, known by her own large family and large circle of friends, always continued to add to her circle. Lovingly she would be a mother to ones without mothers, and a friend to the friendless.

Pallbearers will be her sons, David Barber, Daniel Barber, Louis Barber, James Barber, Kelly Barber, Sr., and Frank Barber. Honorary Pallbearers will be Zane Zayor, Adam Zayor, Jake Barber, Kelly Barber, Jr., John Brennan, Joshua Barber and Riley Barber.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SCOTT location on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 12:00 PM until time of services.
