John Clay "Johnny" Thompson
LAFAYETTE - A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 1:00 PM in East Bayou Baptist Church for John Clay "Johnny" Thompson, age 64, who died on Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Reverend Gary Funderburk, Associate Pastor of East Bayou Baptist Church will conduct the Services.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carol Smith Thompson of Duson; two sons, James Carlyle Thompson, DDS and his wife, Kimberly and Brian Paul Thompson and his wife, Melanie; one stepson, William Evans Talley, III; nine grandchildren, Mackenzie Thompson, Brennon Thompson, Aubrey Thompson, Kaden Thompson, Hope, Glory and Gabe Talley, Bryant and Robert Carroll; one sister, Carla Thompson Nelson and one brother, Eugene C. Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Clay Thompson and Verna Griffith Thompson and one brother, Jimmy Thompson.
A native of Eunice, Mr. Thompson was born on June 29, 1948 and was a resident of Duson, Louisiana for 7 years. He was a veteran of military service, having proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Mr. Thompson attended East Bayou Baptist Church in Lafayette. He was a Sales Representative in the Oilfield and Construction Industry. Mr. Thompson was owner of John Thompson Windows and Doors.
The family requests that visitation be observed at East Bayou Baptist Church on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 12 noon until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Thompson's name to Boy Scouts of America, Evangeline Area Council, 2266 S. College Road, Lafayette, LA 70508; M D Anderson Cancer Center - Annual Fund, P.O. Box 297153, Houston, Texas 77297, or Lafayette Animal Aid, P.O. Box 298, Carencro, Louisiana 70592.
