METAIRIE - Kenneth "Kenny" Tim Wilkerson passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 30, 2013. Age 52 years. Beloved son of Judy Colgan and Gary Pat Wilkerson, Sr, and step-son of Larry Colgan, Sr. and Mary Lou Wilkerson. Beloved brother of Gary Wilkerson, Jr. (Laurie), Shaun Wilkerson, and Shannon Wilkerson (Elena). Beloved uncle of Adrienne Taix, Claire Wilkerson, and Scott Burtle. Also survived by seven step-sisters, two step-brothers, numerous step-nieces, nephews. aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Dorothy Moreci, Kenneth Pat Wilkerson and Dorothy Wilkerson along with God-parents, Lloyd Guenard and "Susie" Nunez.

Kenneth was born a beautiful baby boy, with a natural quick smile who loved people and never met a stranger. He was an avid sportsman throughout his life, starting out in duck blinds by age ten. His love of animals was legendary and his farm was home to hundreds of all sorts over the years.

Kenneth started in the media as a rookie and honed his skills to become a master technician in the field and a respected journalist, earning numerous awards from the Louisiana Associated Press, Louisiana Sports Writers Association, and the Press Club of New Orleans. He loved children, and was eager to give Saints memorabilia to young fans. Kenneth will always be cherished and remembered by his loving family who knew his tenderness and good heart and will miss him forever. Lastly, he will rest in peace with his beloved "Hank", the Yellow Lab who was at his feet during many broadcasts.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, LA. 70124 on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Hope Mausoleum. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 AM. Immediately following the interment, a reception will be held at Lafreniere Park Foundation Center.
