Adia Nadine Sinegal

Carencro - Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church for Adia Nadine Sinegal, age 63, who passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 in Carencro.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Msgr. Ronald Broussard, pastor of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.

Nadine attended Our Lady of Assumption Catholic School and Carencro Middle School in her formative years and was a proud graduate of the Class of 1973 at Carencro High School. Upon graduation, she pursued a degree in Home Economics at the University of Southwestern Louisiana. Early into her profession, Nadine worked as a hair dresser in Carencro. She was very talented and had a large clientele. Because she was an excellent cook and baker, she later began working in the restaurant industry. While living in Virginia, she worked as a caterer for Marriott Hotel, ATT Headquarters, and Howard University. She introduced authentic Southwest Louisiana cuisine to these establishments. Nadine also had the privilege of catering events for Fred Grey, the attorney of Martin Luther King, Jr and Attorney Thurgood Marshall, II. Nadine was truly a master chef and she used this gift to bring people together. She enjoyed traveling, watching the food network, but she especially enjoyed spending time and talking with family and friends.

Left to cherish her memories is her loving daughter, Alyssa Sinegal of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Heddy Catalon and her husband, Anthony, of Lafayette and Gwendolyn Hebert of Houston, TX; two brothers, Peter Sinegal and his wife, Barbara, of Reston, VA and Alfred Sinegal and his wife, Camella, of Carencro; two Godchildren, Jerpell Francis and John Sinegal, II; two great nephews who were like grandchildren to her, Trey and Ty Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Sinegal and the former Hester Bernard; five brothers, Joseph Leonard Sinegal, John Clinton Sinegal Sr, Gene Arnold Sinegal, Charles Leon Sinegal and Jules Thaddeus Sinegal; and two sisters, Angela Ray Sinegal and Lenora Sinegal Francis.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Our lady of Assumption Church

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
