He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Ann Keller Shores, and his parents, Wilbert A. Shores and Wilma McDowell Shores.
Doug and Ann loved traveling together. They visited all 48 states. South Dakota and The Smoky Mountains in Tennessee were their two favorites. They made a lot of great memories through the years. Besides traveling, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, belonging to the Bass Club and National Rifle Association for years. His love of the outdoors also led him to gardening. His vegetable gardens and roses were a product of his work ethic and attention to detail. He was a man of few words, and led by example. He taught us all what it means to be a hard worker, provider for our family.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Shores II, Dustin Shores, Bernie Shores, David Guillet, Tony Richard, Angela Kershaw, and Kenneth Kershaw.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his longtime best friend Gene Broussard, Glen Bearb, and John Fuselier.
