CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Carencro for Gloria Ann Arceneaux, age 68, who passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 1:40 a.m. at Golden Age of Welsh Nursing Home in Welsh.

Interment will be in Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Carencro.

Ms. Arceneaux was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro. She retired in 2003 from U.M.C. in the Radiology department after thirty-three years of service. Ms. Arceneaux was a parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Carencro. She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend who had a heart of pure gold.

Survivors include her devoted daughter, Sierra Arceneaux of Carencro and her "grand-dog" Bailey Elise; one brother, Allen Arceneaux of Lafayette; and four sisters, Mabel A. Johnson of Carencro, Juanita A. Henry and her husband, Eugene, of Houston, TX, Marjorie A. Armstead and Dorothy A. Lee and her husband, Colbert, all of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander Arceneaux and the former Antoinette Babineaux, both natives of Carencro; and one brother, Jules Arceneaux.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Henry, Elliot Arceneaux, Michael Prejean, Damon Lee, Allen Paddio, and Wayne Denton. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Arceneaux, Sr., Colbert Lee, Eugene Henry, Tracy Henry, John Armstead, and Kareem Armstead.

Sierra would like to thank the staff at Golden Age of Welsh Nursing Home, Kindred Hospital Lafayette, Dr. Federico Del Toro, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Lafayette Physical Rehabilitation Hospital, Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital, Synergy Home Care, Professional Home Health, Volunteers of America, Adult Day Care in Carencro, Rev. Peter Emusa, and family and friends who have shown love and support these last few months. Your love and dedication are greatly appreciated.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.
