Norris "Sonny" Benoit, Jr.
Youngsville - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Norris "Sonny" Benoit, Jr., age 64, who passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at The Carpenter House-St. Joseph Hospice in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Reverend Steve LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Basil Catholic Church in Duson, will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years, Carolyn A. Daigle Benoit; his daughter, Christy Benoit Morgan and her fiancé, Chad Blanchard; two grandchildren, Alyssa Rhea Morgan and Braeden James Morgan; one great granddaughter, Cailyn Jade Covalt; one brother, Howard Benoit and his wife Theresa; and two sisters, Linda Jusselin and Allison Culotta.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norris J. Benoit, Sr. and Lilly Mae Hebert Benoit; and one brother, Burt Benoit.
Sonny never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. He enjoyed horse races, going to the casino, spending time with his friends and family and going on family vacations. Sonny owned a tree service, worked on fences and did remodeling jobs. He was a jack of all trades and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Pallbearers will be Scottie Daigle, Manny Gala, Taj Gala, Richard Aucoin, Barry Miller, Ronnie Harden, A. J. Credeur and Ben Spisak.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Braeden Morgan, Colby Culotta and Kellie Daigle.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Friday, April 2, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
A Rosary will be prayed on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Benoit's name to The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice, 923 West Pinhook Road, Lafayette, Louisiana, 70503.
A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Benoit family to the doctors, nurses and staff at Carpenter House and his sister-in-law, Elaine Daigle.
