CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Monday, November 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Barbara Leger, age 68, the former Barbara Trahan, who passed away Friday, November 16, 2012 at 7:04 a.m. at her residence in Scott.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Johnathan Janise, associate pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.

Mrs. Leger was a native and resident of Carencro for most of her life and was a resident of Scott for the last five years.

Survivors include her companion Alwynn Boutte; two sons, Kevin Leger and his wife, Cathy of Carencro and Craig Leger of Walkersville, MD; two daughters, Laura Thacker and her husband, Donald, and Tina Montet and her husband, Neil, all of Scott; one brother, John Dale Trahan and his wife, Betty,of Kentwood, LA; one sister, Gwen Ronquillo of Biloxi, MS; five grandchildren, Kristin Thacker, Jacob Thacker, Alan Montet, Cara Moody and Alexa Leger; and two great grandchildren, Korbin Guidry and Alaini Thacker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pierre J.P. Trahan and the former Lorris Dugas; her husband, Alexander Leger; and one sister, Linda Pelas.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Leger, Craig Leger, John Dale Trahan, Donald Thacker, Jacob Thacker and Alan Montet. Honorary pallbearers will be Kermit Leger, Kerney Leger, Robert "Bubba" Leger, Joey Leger, Sr. and Danny Leger.

Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro, (337) 896-3232, is in charge of arrangements.
