LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony Catholic Church for Denris J. Mouton, 88, who died on January 10, 2013 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Reverend Lambert Lien, S.V.D., Pastor of St. Anthony Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant along with numerous Reverends as Con-Celebrants.

Interment will be in St. John Cathedral Cemetery.

Denris was born on October 2, 1924 in Lafayette and had been a lifelong resident of this community. He was a graduate of St. Paul High School. He later joined the U. S. Army in 1943 serving our nation during World War II while stationed in Cherbourg, France as Provost Sergeant (M.P.) until his discharge in 1946. His mother was the recipient of the "Five Gold Star Mom" award for having five sons in active duty during World War II simultaneously. Mr. Mouton was a self-employed painting contractor known throughout this area as a Premier Craftsman.

He was a member of the 3rd Degree Knights of Peter Claver, St. Paul Council #11 since 1942. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Peter Claver, St. Anthony's Assembly #3 and a member of the American Legion Post 69. Mr. Mouton received the Bishop's Service Award for his work on the Board of Trustees for the Diocese of Lafayette.

He is survived by his wife, Ezola LeBlanc Mouton, her children, Harold (Karen), Howard, Craig (Michelle), Ruth Mouton White (Viron) and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Contis Bessard Mouton; his parents, Louis Rousseau Mouton and Inez Richard Mouton; his six brothers, Wallace "Wa-Wa", Harold, Stanley, Darrel, Theodore and Curt Mouton.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 600 Madeline Avenue in Lafayette, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
