Dolores Hebert Obituary
Dolores Marie Hebert

LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 at a 10:00 a.m. service in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Dolores Marie Hebert, age 77, the former Dolores Marie Labry, who passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 6:25 a.m. at Prince William Medical Center in Manassas, VA.

Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette.

As the seasons pass, so must we all. Dolores Marie (Labry) Hebert born on April 25, 1936, in Kaplan, LA, completed her cherished duties as caring wife to Robert E. Hebert, loving mother of Lernes Hebert and Lorena Potter, and doting grandmother to Rochelle, Russell, Anna, Lea and Lauren on May 22, 2013 at Prince William Hospital, Manassas, VA, from complications from the breast cancer she was valiantly fighting. Dolores was raised by Lernes Joseph Labry and Ophelia Marie (Mouton) Labry.

She was a skilled teacher and partner with Robert in several business ventures. After a lifetime in southwestern LA, Robert and Dolores picked up their roots and moved to northern Virginia following Hurricane Katrina, to live with their son Lernes, his spouse Margaret, and their children Lea and Lauren. Dolores went into hibernation during the snowy winters in her new hometown of Woodbridge, VA, and would start stockpiling groceries as soon as the first leaves fell. She always made sure her family was well-feed and well-loved, even the birds and squirrels. You never had to wonder what she was thinking, she told you without hesitation. This quality endeared her to many, particularly her doctors, who quickly learned the strength of a Cajun spirit. She loved and lived with every ounce of energy she had. So as spring passes into summer we will count our blessings for having known MaMa Hebert for many joyous seasons

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
