LAFAYETTE - Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at 11:00 AM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette for Janet Glenn Carter, age 67, who died on Thursday, November 27, 2014 in Lafayette.
Pastor Dennis Hetherington will conduct the services.
Survivors include her children, Elizabeth Sims (Mike), Charles Delaune, Kari Carter, Robin Jacobsma (Clint) and Kelly Carter (Chris); her step daughter, Lori Lewko (Eric); her brother, Walter Glenn, Jr. (Patti); her sisters in law, Cindy Lacour (Dick), Sue Sellers (Robert); her grandchildren, Tayler East, Casey Delaune, Kaela Carter, Kaeleb Carter, Morgan Lewko, MacKenzie Lewko, Clint Jacobsma, Matthew Jacobsma, and Morgan Myers; her great grandchildren, Isabella East, Aubree East and Xaiden Triche; her aunt, Audrey Walker. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" E. Carter, Jr.; and her parents, Walter Glenn Sr. and Yvonne Walker Glenn.
Janet was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Lafayette for 15 years. She worked as a substitute teacher for LPSB for many years. She enjoyed traveling, Bingo, Bowling, playing cards and going to the casino. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who affectionately called her Maw Maw.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Walter, I'm so sorry for the loss of your sister. My brother was a classmate of Janet at Our Lady Star of the Sea. And it always seemed to me that you were very close to Janet while you and I were classmates at OLSS and HC.

We were so sorry to hear of Janet's death. Janet was our friend for almost 50 years and we shared many beautiful memories that we hold dear in our heart. Rest in heavenly peace, our sweet friend, we will miss you. We would like to express our heartfelt sympathy to the family.

We last spoke on Tuesday. We always spoke on Bowling. Bob and Grand Children were always the subject. She wanted a ball drilled, Kari, bring him in and I will take care of it. Condolences to all the Family.
