We just heard about Will's death. The family has our deepest sympathy. We knew Will for only a few years but he was a gentleman with and kind and generous heart. We visited with him almost every time we went up to Toledo Bend to our camp. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. With deepest sympathy, Rod and Cynthia Etie

I am writing in response to the amazing things I have read below. I am one of the grandchildren of Mr Will Hinds. He raised me when I was a young child and I had the honor of growing up and watching he best work. I learned many skills growing up includng fishing and hunting which he was excellent at. His since of humor was one of quick wits that I still to this day have not seen anyone match. He was kind and very giving to anyone no matter who they were.
He was also a very very intelligent individual. His knowledge of history and events were that of something out of a book. He knew dates times and even places of just about every major battle of the civil war. Memories that he still carries even after the accident.
I learned that manners and southern charm can take you anywhere and that saying sir is much as a respect as it was honorable.
His grip from all that painting was like shaking a vice. Anyone who shook his hand knew he could crush it if he wanted but he was a kind man.
I'll miss you pop. I hope you find you peace at last and save some fish for me up there. I love you and will always hold you close.

I am so sorry for the lost of this great artist. I met Will about 7 years ago and became his housekeeper and friend for about a year before his accident. We had a lot of good laughs and a few arguments, ( about him keeping chickens in the living room). He truly loved life and his kids were everything to him. He leaves a great legacy behind. May God bless him and his family as they go through this time of loss. I pray in Jesus Holy name, a Toledo Bend Neighbor and friend.

A beautiful obituary for a beautiful person - inside and out! Lost contact with Will through the years but, still have fond wonderful memories of a man with such a captivating personality who never met a stranger and always took you into his life as a friend and not a visitor! Prayers and Blessings to his family - especially Windy who I remember fondly. Katie LeBlanc (Buller)

Our Hearts are sadden about the passing of
Mr. William Hinds.
I did not get to meet Mr. Hinds personally but I have been very fortunate to know his son, Cy. After reading this Obituary it's not hard to realize why Cy is the Awesome Man that he is.
I am honored to have Cy as my Christian brother, and his father must be very proud!
My God Bless all of Mr. Hinds children, grand children and extended family. He is with our Heavenly Father praying and preparing a place for Us.

Unique, talented, charismatic, filled with life loving qualities, our dear family friend, Will Hinds, who was especially close to my husband, Gene Norman for so many years. They will now catch up on life in heaven. Will was one of God's treasurers loaned to us. Children and grandchildren of Will's - hold on to the memories. Will was one of a kind and left his imprint on many.
