Dear Patsy Dauphin Mouton,

In honor of Edgar G. Mouton, Jr. American Christian Patriot and outstanding public servant, on behalf of all members of our Marine Corps League in the State of Louisiana, please accept our sincere sympathy upon the "temporary" loss of your beloved husband, Edgar G. Mouton, Jr.

We say this is a "temporary" loss because in St. Paul's address to the Corinthians ( II Cor. 5-8) it says, as recorded in God's Word , that once we believers leave our earthly bodies, we are at home with the Lord; therefore, due to the life on earth of Jesus Christ, His suffering, shed blood, death on the cross, and resurrection from the dead, as believers, we are assured to be reunited in God's Kingdom -- forever!

I feel certain "Sonny" would want us who follow him in obeying God's Commands and to exemplify the principles of HONOR, COURAGE,COMMITMENT.

My wife, Catherine joins me in thanking You, Lord, for the selfless , honorable life of Edgar G. Mouton, Jr. Our expression of sympathy is extended to all family members and friends.

All our love and Semper Fidelis!

Charles A. McGowen 11 State of Louisiana Chaplain, United States Marine Corps League.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Sonny Mouton, who was a diminutive giant
on the Louisiana political landscape. He was blessed with a wit and rare political savvy
that will never be matched in the Louisiana legislature. He was a joy to hear as an orator who was never bested.

I was a freshman at Cathedral High School, when I first experienced the presence of Sonny Mouton. As an alumni he was a guest speaker to our class for
"Career Day" in 1957. I was the smallest guy in our class so I bonded with him immediately. Then he captured my heart with his brilliant oratory and raw passion. I can still remember him looking straight at me and saying:"There is no more noble profession than that of a lawyer. You get to fight for Justice whichever side
you are on. But remember, you always have to fight within the confines of morality."

I made up my mind right there to become a lawyer and eleven years later I graduated from Tulane Law School which also happened to be Sonny's almamater.

His political career was a gift to the people he served that he gave freely with his heart, and it was a BIG heart.

He was always a source of inspiration to me. Allof us who live in Acadiana have benefited and our children will benefit from all the good work he did out of love for his people.

Dear Patsy and all. I express my deepest condolences. It has been years since I have seen him, but will always remember serving with him in the Senate. There is now way I can put into words the honor and joy I enjoyed serving with him. He was always most gracious, helpful and kind, in addition to being a great senator. I will always remember T-Mout, and cherish my memories of him
