My thoughts and prayers are with Dr. Soc's family. He was a role model for all who came through Microbiology at LSU. He taught us all many lessons including that a part of our responsibility is to teach the next generation. I feel incredibly lucky to have known him.

Dear Esther,
I was saddened when I heard about Soc's death. I recall that time when the two of you travelled to see Soc's brother before his brother died. It was such an honor to serve as yours and Soc's pastor. You and your family are in my prayers.

Dear Esther, So many memories when you think back to college days, remembering how obvious it was that you were "crazy in love" with Soc. We heard his name mentioned lots at the Tri Delt house! At our 50th K-State reunion, Marty and I had a great time that night at dinner at the same table - talking about those days! Prayers for you and the family. Love, Doris and Marty

Soc was undoubtedly one of the first people I met when I came into this world in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. Only later, when both of our families moved to Baton Rouge, did I realize this. As a child it was great to spend time with Esther, Mary Sue, and Kathleen. I thought of Soc as a friendly uncle. I had no idea he was a Professor of Microbiology. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that he would become my mentor when I was a Zoology major at LSU. He was a great guy. We will miss him.
