Madelyn Johnston Obituary

Madelyn Grace Johnston, 8, of Conway, went to her Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2012.
She was born on Friday, December 10, 2004, in Conway, to T. J. and Rachel (Nichols) Johnston.
Madelyn came into the world surrounded by a loving family. She was the perfect blend of her parents – her mother's beauty, steadiness, and sense of justice and her father's intuition, emotion, and desire to defend those she loved. Madelyn impacted all who knew her. She loved and she loved in a big way. She never held back.
Madelyn was a second grader at Woodrow Cummins Elementary School where she enjoyed her friends and her school work. She was a perfectionist and was never happy with anything but an "A". She loved shopping, the color pink, crab legs, and PF Changs. She was both an accomplished artist and athlete. "Mad Dog" left it all on the field when she played girls fast pitch softball. That was the way she lived her life too – with no regrets.
For all of her successes, they all paled in comparison to her greatest accomplishment. Madelyn gave her life to her Lord Jesus Christ this year and was baptized at Second Baptist Church. She was an active member involved in her small group, Awana, and Children's Choir. Her faith was unshakeable and she leaves her earthly life surrounded by that same loving family and friends and she waits for all of them in Heaven.
She is survived by her parents, T. J. and Rachel Johnston; brother, Sawyer James Johnston; grandparents, Roy and Janie Nichols of Van Buren, Mark and Debbie Johnston, and Bryan and Paula Dovers of Benton; great-grandparents, Roy and Ann Nichols, and Carolyn Davis of Van Buren; two uncles, Paul Nichols and Brad Lacy, both of Conway; numerous cousins; and her Second Baptist Church Family.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Second Baptist Church, Conway, with Brother Mark Dance officiating.
Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park, Conway, with Mark Johnston, Roy Nichols, Paul Nichols, Brad Lacy, Bryan Dovers, and Mike Willcutt serving as pallbearers.
The Fast Pitch Softball Teams "Powers" and "Bears" will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2012, at the church.
At the request of her parents and because of the importance Madelyn placed on her faith, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Second Baptist Church, Conway Children's Building Fund.
Arrangements by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway.

My sincere condolences to the family. At Psalm 56:8 David pleaded to God: "Do put my tears in your skin bottle. Are they not in your book? Like David I know that God is aware of your pain and what you
are going through emotionally. He will give you what you need to live each day without Madelyn.

She is stunningly beautiful. I cannot imagine her beauty in the presence of God. I look forward to knowing someday, and I know you both feel the same.

December 18, 2012

You can be trusted completely, Lord.
When all else fails, You will never fail me.
You will always keep Your promises.
When I don't know where to turn, turn my heart towards YOU.
When my life is overwhelmed, lift my gaze toward Heaven.
When joy abounds, cause my lips to sing Your praise.
Even in the midst of my pain, help me to remember You.
In every detail of my life help me to trust You completely
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song. – PSALM 28:6-7
While you wait on the Lord, I'll be praying for you and trusting that He will strengthen you and help you as you remain in the arms of the faithful ONE.

Dear family, I did not know Madelyn personally, but I do know her as a child of God. There is no greater pain then the loss of a loved one, especially a child. There will be many days that the hurt will suck the very breath out of you. There will be times you watch for her to walk thru the door, with her big smile, and try to accept the truth, she is with Jesus. There will be days the hurt is so great, you just want to curl up into a ball and block out the world. And there will be times when you would do anything just to hold her one more time. I dont share this with you to paint a sad picture and to believe there is not a light at the end of the tunnel. There is....keep your faith in God, keep your family and friends close, and if you ever need someone to talk to who has, unfortunately, walked your path, please contact me. I know what you are going thru and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.. With Christ s love, Glenda J. Hoyt

My daughter is #12 on the sassy cats. I remember MadDog last tournament. She's a beautiful doll. Rest assured she's playing her best game yet, where Jesus is her coach and the game is always fair. May God bless and hold each and every one of you during this tragedy.

TJ, and Rachel. You guys don't know me, but I have been praying for you. My sister works with TJ and it is very obvious that Madelyn was loved so much.
I realize there are no words a stranger like me can say to ease the pain. But I wanted to let you know that there are prayers coming from people you've never met. May His peace be with you until you meet sweet Madelyn again.
