Carmen Cordova In Memoriam
Carmen G.

Cordova

Oct. 7, 1931 - Dec. 25, 2017

Carmen G. Cordova, 86, of Salinas, passed away on December 25th, 2017, after a lengthy illness. She was born on October 7th, 1931 in Seeley, CA.

Our Mom was a homemaker who moved from El Centro, CA, after the birth of her last child, to the cooler climate of Monterey Couny. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jesus R. Cordova, her middle daughter, Rosalie G. Cordova, as well as her parents and several of her siblings.

Survivors include her daughters, Jenny and Monica; grandson, Paul Hernandez; great-granddaughters, Andrea and Alyssa Hernandez; brother, Robert Gaxiola and his wife, Mary. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Carmen was a Libra who had an appreciation for all things beautiful. She loved to garden in her younger days and had quite the green thumb. She adored babies and little children. We remember that she could draw very well. Another memory we have, is of her getting us kids to exercise along with her, as we watched Jack LaLanne on television. Our Mom, with a little help from our Dad, just happened to make the prettiest and best tasting tortillas EVER!

Mom suffered from Alzheimer's Disease. It is our prayer that she has been reunited with loved ones; and that the world she passed into, is one that is free of the confusion that clouded the last years of her life.

Interment of her ashes, along with those of our Dad, took place on May 15th, 2018 at California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery.
