In Memoriam Condolences

Rosalie G. Cordova

Rosalie G. Cordova, of Salinas, passed peacefully, with courage and grace, into another life, on Monday, November 27th, 2017, after a long illness. She was born on Friday, July 6th, 1956 on the site of the former Ft. Ord in Monterey County. Lee, as she preferred to be called, attended area schools and was retired from the Social Security Administration, after more than 30 years of service.

Lee was a girly girl with a beautiful smile and a quirky sense of humor. She had a flair for both fashion and for decorating her home. She loved shopping, cooking, dining out, going to the movies, helping raise her nephew and doting on her grandnieces. She also loved travel and, fortunately, she did get a chance, when she was younger and still in good health, to go to Hawaii, New York, Italy , France and Spain.

Our sister was preceded in death by her father, Jesus R. Cordova. At the time of her passing, she was survived by her mother, Carmen G. Cordova, who would ultimately pass one month later. She is also survived by her sisters, Jenny and Monica; nephew, Paul Hernandez; grandnieces, Andrea and Alyssa Hernandez, all of Salinas; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and her little Pom, Shiloh. Growing up, Lee was especially close to her uncle and aunt, Robert and Mary Gaxiola, of Salinas, and her cousin, Becky Gaxiola, of San Jose.

We would like to thank all the family and friends who attended a gathering held in her honor. Thank you for sharing your memories of Rosalie. She loved you all.

There were so many lovely gestures, from the cards, flowers and food to the calls, messages and visits. Thank you for all your prayers and for your love and support. To our uncle and aunt, Manuel and Connie Cordova, of Gilroy, we give special thanks for their generosity. Finally, we would like to thank all the caring individuals involved in the care and treatment of her illness, from beginning to end.

Friday, July 6th, 2018 would have been our sister's 62nd Birthday.

Happy Birthday Kitten. We Love and Miss You!
