Teodora Hernandez

Salinas - Teodora Hernandez passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 18, 2020 at the age of 91. She was born on May 3, 1929 in Berkeley, CA to Abraham and Manuela Navarro. She was the second born of 10 siblings. Teodora married Paul Hernandez Sr in 1950 and they had 7 children. Paul Hernandez Jr. (Lupe) Salinas, Dora Haro (Mario) Soledad, Norma Cressman (Bruce) Prunedale, Janet Ventura (Henry) Soledad, Esther Fuson (Greg) Stockton, Rachel Gomez (Richard) Salinas, Joseph Hernandez Salinas. She was also a loving Grandmother to 24 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abraham and Manuela Navarro, her sisters, Abigail Navarro, Elisa Molina, Mercedes Navarro, Esther Navarro, Mary Lou Navarro and her great grandson Isaiah Ventura.

Teodora was a devout Catholic and attended mass regularly. She was still very active always keeping busy. Her family was very important to her and she loved to cook for her family making homemade tortillas and the best Chicken Mole. She crocheted many blankets, so many that there is a blanket in every family member's home. She loved to garden and care for her roses. She enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk and Shirley Temple. Her dog Joanna would be by her side during the day. She was very interested in history and enjoyed a trip to DC with her daughters being in awe of all she saw. She taught her children to work hard and never lose sight of their dreams.

Viewing will be held at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St. Salinas, Ca. 93901 January 3, 2021 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Rosary by invitation.

Mass will be held at Madonna Del Sasso Church, 320 E. Laurel Drive, Salinas, Ca. 93906 January 4, 2021 at 10:00am

Interment to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA. 93901
