Carol B. Davies

Carol Beverly Davies, 86, of Salinas, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Carol was born in Salinas, to Henry Silacci and Helen Edwards of Salinas.

She graduated from Salinas High School in 1945, married Donald F. Davies of Salinas in 1948 and raised two daughters in Salinas. She was an enthusiastic world traveler, when she was able. Mexico was a favorite destination where she enjoyed the weather, beaches, and the interesting local culture with family and friends. A card player, she enjoyed Bridge, all other card games and always initiated a competitive favorite game of Pedro if a "fourth" were available. A Giants and 49ers fan, of course.

Carol, also known as Bala, will be remembered for her sense of humor, fun loving charm, and easy going spirit.

She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Lynn Davies of Coursegold, Leslie Andersen of Salinas; her three grandchildren, Tiffany (James) Mansfield of San Carlos, Becky Pendleton of St. George, UT, Adam Pina of Coursegold; and three great-grandchildren, Connor and Zack Pendleton of St. George, UT and Quinn Mansfield of San Carlos.

A Celebration of her Life will take place at a later date and no funeral services will be held per her request.

Her family wishes to thank the Katherine Convalescent Hospital's entire staff of employees for their love, kindness, and expert care for the nine years she was a resident.

Donations can be made to the Katherine Convalescent Hospital's Employees Fund, 315 Alameda Ave., Salinas, CA 93901, or donor's favorite charity.
