Nicholas P. Mascovich

Nicholas "Nick" P. Mascovich, 93, of Salinas, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013. He was born September 2, 1919, in Gilroy.

He was a carpenter for many years and a member of the Carpenter Local No. 605 in Marina. He attended Hartnell College, and served in the Army Air Corps.

He was a member of NRA Endowment, Salinas Elks Lodge No. 614, Native Sons of Golden West - Salinas Chapter, Air Force Association, the American Air Museum in Britain, Marines Memorial Association of San Francisco, and Quiet Birdman of Carmel Valley.

Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas P. and Frances Mascovich and one brother.

Nick is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anita Mascovich of Salinas; sisters, Barbara Hambey of Royal Oaks, and Rosalia DuBrau of Washington state; brother, Gerald Nelson of Moreno Valley; nieces, Barbara Jane Strong, Beverly Grove, Jeanine Evasick, Denise Mattson, Michelle Davis, and Sandra Mascovich; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 1:30 p.m., at the Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas, CA 93901. The Salinas Elks Lodge Officers will be presiding over the service.
