Genevieve G. Durnell, 96, formerly of Reynoldsville, Pa., died on Monday, Feb. 4, 2018 at her home in Ona, W.Va.
Born Friday, Oct. 28, 1921 in Rathmel, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Fred Snyder and the late Amanda (Carr) Snyder. She was married to Richard B. Durnell on April 12, 1941 and they were together for 70 years until his passing in 2011.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Bunn (Douglas) of Ona, W.Va., and Patricia Huntington (James) of Reynoldsville, Pa.; brother, Gary Murphy of Easley, S.C.; sisters, Mary Jane Reddecliff of Plant City, Fla., Geraldine Smith of Ridgway, Pa., and Matilda Mowrey of DuBois, Pa.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 at Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., located at 206 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851, with the Rev. Thomas Carr officiating. Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville, Pa.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home Inc.
