Alvin L. Thomas, age 73, of Beechtree Road, Falls Creek, Pa., died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
Born on Sept. 25, 1942, in Clearfield, Pa., he was the son of the late G. Currier and Elma (Korb) Thomas.
On Aug. 31, 1963, he married Kaye M. (Bloom) Thomas. She survives.
Alvin retired in 2002 as an over the road truck driver after 40 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a past member of the former Anderson Creek Sportsman Club, and he, along with his wife and kids, raised Blue Tick Coon Hounds.
He is survived by three children, Timera Yovich and her husband Rudy of Defiance, Ohio, Jodee Thomas of Leavenworth, Wash., and Amy Jo Thomas of Falls Creek, Pa.; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Lauren Yovich; two sisters, Elaine T. Smith of Monroe, N.C. and Eileen Anthony of Grampian, Pa.; and a brother, Wayne Thomas and his wife Beverly of DuBois, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Thomas.
Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc., DuBois.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the funeral home with Pastor Charles M. Lee Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
