Armeda R. McCall, age 91, of Broad Street, Brockway, Pa., died peacefully on Saturday, July 1, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on Aug. 14, 1925, in Brockway, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Corina Regotti Carnesali. On July 26, 1948, she was married to Kenneth L. McCall and he preceded her in death on July 17, 2007.
Retiring at the age of 82, Armeda had been the hostess and dining room manager at the Holiday Inn in DuBois for 38 years.
She was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway. She also was a member of the Rosary Society and the Progressive Women's Club.
One of Armeda's greatest joys was cooking and baking on a grand scale, and sharing everything she made with the entire community.
She is survived by three daughters, Corine (Frank) Snyder of Reynoldsville; Doreen McCall of Harrisburg and Kathleen McCall of Chicago; two sons, Kenneth (Amy) McCall of Pittsburgh, Karl McCall, also of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Ashley Ankeny) Snyder and Jeremy (Faye Johnston) Snyder; one brother, John Carnesali of St. Marys; two sisters-in-law, Norma Carnesali of Brockway, Jean McCall of Grampian, Pa.; and a brother-in-law, Carl Bruno of New Oxford, Pa.
In addition to her parents and her husband she is also preceded in death by two sisters, Elvira Bruno, Marie Whitmer; and a brother, Edward Carnesali.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, July 5, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home, Inc., in Brockway. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 6, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Tobias Church also in Brockway with Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding. Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
