Arthur P. Allen, age 76, of West Long Ave., DuBois, Pa., died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at Christ the King Manor in DuBois, Pa.
Born on July 13, 1941, in DuBois, Pa., he was the son of the late Leo W. and Virginia D. (Copenhaver) Allen.
He had worked at the Holiday Inn and Pizza Hut in DuBois for many years and had also worked custodial duties at St. Catherine's Church.
Artie was very active in church affairs throughout his life. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years. He was an officer and member of the former Ancient Order of Hibernians, and was a past member of the Blue Army and Legion of Mary. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #519 and was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus Assembly #2661.
He is survived by a brother, Robert L. Allen of Clearwater, Fla., a sister, Judith Allen Stouffer of Brandon, Fla., two nephews, one niece, two great nephews and two great nieces.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., DuBois.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at 10 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer and Fr. Matias Quimno concelebrating.
Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.
Memorials may be placed with Christ the King Manor, 1100 W. Long Ave. and/or St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 116 S. State St., both in DuBois, PA 15801.
