Attrice "Tracy" Rae Myers, 84, DuBois, passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at Christ the King Manor after a lengthy illness.
Born Dec. 25, 1931, in Asheboro, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Herbert Cicero and Esther Mae (Dennis) Rich.
Tracy graduated from Albemarle High School in 1950 and studied nursing at Rowan Memorial Hospital School of Nursing (class of 1953). She was employed as a registered nurse at various hospitals in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Florida throughout her career, including DRMC.
She was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church as well as Central Church of God in Charlotte, N.C. Tracy enjoyed attending church services and singing, and was a member of Lakeside UMC's choir.
Her hobbies included dancing, singing, reading her Bible, spending time with family, and involving herself in various church ministries.
Tracy is survived by three sons, Philip (Debra) Myers of DuBois, Roger (Michelle) Myers of Cranberry Twp., Pa., and Stuart Myers of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren, Philip, Matthew, and Spencer; a sister, Rose Julian of Matthews, N.C., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Olen Deware Rich Dennis; and an infant sister, Arlene May.
Friends and family will be received from 2- 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. in DuBois. Friends and family will also be received from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home in Matthews, N.C. A funeral service will follow the Saturday visitation at 11 a.m. Feb. 20, at the funeral home. Rev. Greg Baker will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Charlotte, N.C.
