Bernice Marie Bennett, age 83, of Brockway, Pa., died on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born on June 16, 1934, in Walburn Run, she was the daughter of the late George and Sarah Carr Stubbs. On June 28, 1952, she was married to Burton A. Bennett and he survives.
Bernice was a housewife and a member of the Lanes Mills United Methodist Church.
She loved talking to people, and with a smile on her face could strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere. She also enjoyed simple things like spending time with her family and babysitting grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bernice is survived by three sons, James (Denise) Bennett of Falls Creek, Michael (JoAnn) Bennett of Brockway, David (Donna) Bennett of DuBois; two sisters, Dorothy Wingard of Salamanca, N.Y., and her twin sister, Beverly Bennett of Brandy Camp, Pa.; three brothers, Ron (Ella Mae) Stubbs; Floyd (Sandy) Stubbs and Gary (Margaret) Stubbs, all of Brockway. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty and Mildred; three brothers, Raymond, Clifford and Kenneth; a granddaughter, Angela; and a great-grandson, Connor.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc., Brockway. The funeral service will be on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. at the Lanes Mills United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Trask officiating. Burial will follow in the Brandy Camp Cemetery.
