Bernice Miller (1924 - 2014)

Bernice Rhodes Miller, 90, formerly of Renfrew, passed away Sept. 1, 2014, at 3:20 p.m. at the Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
She was born Feb. 16, 1924, in Union Township, to the late Robert Leroy Rhodes and Frances Adella Steele Rhodes.
Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Corsica-Union High School, then went on to earn a Secretarial Degree from DuBois Business College.
She worked as a Legal Secretary for Mellon & Sons in Pittsburgh, retiring April 30, 1965.
Mrs. Miller was a member of the Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, where she was a former member of the Bible study.
She enjoyed needlework, reading and watching sports on TV with her late husband.
Mrs. Miller is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, and a number of great-nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Trent Miller, who passed away Aug. 8, 2009; and four brothers: Robert, Dean, Lynn and Paul Rhodes.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey Curtis of Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will take place in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
