Betty "Betsy" Ann (Smith) Rozyle died peacefully on Friday July 7, 2017, in DuBois, Pa., surrounded by family.
Betsy is survived by her children, Shelly Ditty of Harrisburg, Pa., and Stephen Kanagy of Mississippi; her granddaughters: Cassey Conyers of Searcy, Ark., Nichole Williams of Punxsutawney, Pa., Markie Ditty of Karthaus, Pa., and Amarihia Ditty of Frenchville, Pa.; her best friend, Aunt Toot (Shirley Martz); and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and brother.
Betsy was born on Sept. 4, 1953, in Brookville, Pa., to the late Betty J. (Smith) Geer of Brookville and the late David E. Geer of Punxsutawney.
She spent her free time hunting, fishing, and being a faithful Days of Our Lives supporter.
There was nothing she loved more than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she made sure they knew every day. She was well known for her wild spirit and didn't care what anyone thought of her.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, from 4 – 7p.m., at the McKinney–d'Argy Funeral Home, ltd, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA 15825. A celebration of her life will immediately follow the viewing, beginning at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Betsy's life.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff of the Ridgeview Nursing Home for giving Betsy a wonderful last few months of life.
Interment will take place at the Bethlehem–Lutheran Cemetery, Beaver Twp., Jefferson Co., Pa.
