Betty "Jane" Kearney, age 95, currently a resident at the McKinley Health Center in Brookville, Pa., a lifelong Brockway resident, died on Monday, March 21, 2016.
Born in Brockway on March 16, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Damon and Agnes Kocher Clinton.
Jane married Leland "Lee" Kearney; he preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1987.
Retired, she had been employed over the years as a clerk at the City Market and at the A & P Market, both in Brockway, as well as being a mother and a housewife.
Jane was a member of the Moorhead United Methodist Church.
One of her favorite hobbies was crafts and crafting. She always had a variety of her handiwork for sale at the Harvest of Love Festival held each fall at the church. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Jane is survived by a daughter, Marcia (Thomas) Grimm of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; a son, Brian (Sherry) Kearney of Brockway; a granddaughter, Shawnda and a great-grandson, Thomas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she is also preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Delbert and James Clinton and five sisters: Helen McNeil, Zula Barraclough, Oleta Fye, Faye Richards and Elaine Fuller.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 24, also at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Trask officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Hill Cemetery.
