Beverly J. Beard, 83, Rockton, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at her home.
Born June 25, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Romaine and Lorraine (Faudie) Bailey.
She married Guy W. Beard on Oct. 20, 1951, in Rockton. He preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1999.
Beverly graduated from the DuBois Area High School. She was a homemaker. She formerly served on the Union Township Election Board and was a member of the Home Camp Grange and Eastern Star. Her interests included knitting, jigsaw puzzles, fishing, taking trips to see the elk, making crafts, and spending time with her family. Beverly was Protestant by faith.
Beverly is survived by four children: Guy W. Beard of Milton, Fla., Mark (Kathy) Beard of Sinking Springs, Pa., Doreen (Randall) Cyone of Rockton, and Liann Beard of Rockton; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a nephew, Keith Bailey (Rhonda). She was the last member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Dennis Beard; a brother, Keith Bailey; and a great-granddaughter, Paighton Beard.
There will be no public visitation. A celebration of life service will be held in Beverly's honor on Saturday, March 11, at the DuBois Light and Life Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Brian Spencer and Pastor Mark Lutcher officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc.
Memorial donations may be made to any First Commonwealth Bank office, c/o the Paighton Beard Memorial Fund.
