Beverly Joyce Hockenberry of Brockway, Pa., was struck of sudden illness and passed on Nov. 1st at the age of 83.
Beverly was born on Dec. 12, 1932, to the late Grahmn and Mabel (Coleman) Hand in Bunker Hill, Ind.
On Jan. 1, 1952, Beverly married Arthur Hockenberry at the First Methodist Church in Gas City, Ind. Together they found great joy and happiness in 63 years of marriage with their two children, Carol and Steve.
Beverly retired as a librarian in Jonesboro, Ga., and enjoyed fictional novels and puzzles very much. Beverly and her husband loved to travel, and visited every U.S. state with the exception of Hawaii. In her free time, Beverly spent time with friends playing bingo and going to casinos. She enjoyed her life at fullest and known for her cheerful and positive attitude.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Arthur Hockenberry; sisters, Rosemarie Mason, Naomi King, Sharon Carey; and brother, Norman Hand.
She is survived by her son, Steven Hockenberry; daughter, Carol (Armand) Mazzocchi, all of Brockway. Beverly has three cherished grandchildren: A. Joseph Mazzocchi (Keiko Horii) of Columbus, Ohio, Nicholas Mazzocchi (Catherine Couture) of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Maria (David) Braem of Albuquerque, N.M. Beverly's beloved sister, Patricia (Harold) McClarnon resides in Grants Pass, Ore.
A memorial service celebrating Beverly's life will be held with Msgr. Charles Kaza at the St. Tobias Church in Brockway, Pa., from 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5th. Burial will be at the Wildwood Cemetery in Brockway.
Memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Foundation or to the American Parkinson's Association.
