Blair V. Rhodes, 87, 2413 Panic Knoxdale Road, Reynoldsville, died Tuesday morning, May 12, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born March 6, 1928, in Hampfield Township, he was a son of the late William and Blanche Weyant Rhodes. On July 8, 1950, he married Ruby A. Norris Rhodes. She survives in Reynoldsville.
Blair was a retired lifelong dairy farmer.
He was a veteran of the Korean War who proudly served his country as Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a member of the Zion Presbyterian Church in Panic and the Pennsylvania Farmer's Association.
His favorite activity was spending time with his family, who enjoyed his storytelling abilities.
His greatest love was his wife, Ruby. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year.
Blair is also survived by a daughter, Beverly (Alex) Armagost of Palmer, Alaska; two sons, Rodney (Terri) Rhodes of Panic and Gary Rhodes of Reynoldsville; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clair (Betty) Rhodes of Boynton Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Carrie Gaston of Prospect, Eleanor (Raymond) Depp and Mildred (Joe) Woods, both of Panic.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, William Rhodes and a sister, Ruth Roberts.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 15, at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven J. Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in Zion Presbyterian Cemetery, Panic.
