Brenton Russell "Brent" Rearick, 76, of McCullough Avenue, Brockway, PA, died on Sunday, February 14, 2021.
Born on September 13, 1944, in Kittanning, PA, he was the son of the late Berton Reese and Marian Lias Rearick.
He was married to Marilyn Jane Jordan and she preceded him in death on March 10, 2020. Brent and Jane enjoyed 55 years of marriage.
Retired, he taught chemistry and general sciences for 30 years at the Brockway High School and, along the way, he also worked part-time at Brockway True Value and at Brockway Analytical Services. Brent was a member of the Moorhead United Methodist Church in Brockway. He loved to hunt and fly fish and tied all of his own flies. Brent also enjoyed hiking, reading, cross-country skiing and spending time at camp with his family.
He is survived by a daughter, Jonell (David) Volpe of DuBois; two sons, Brian (Tracy) Rearick of Allison Park, PA and Michael (Kristy) Rearick of Santa Fe, NM; two brothers, David (Cynthia) Rearick of Rural Valley, PA and Gregory Rearick of Clarion, PA. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Lauren Rearick, Annalise Rearick, Alexandra Volpe and Nicholas Volpe.
There will be no public visitation. A private funeral service will be held with Pastor Bob Trask officiating. Burial will follow in the Beechwoods Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Brockway Student Loan Fund or to Mengle Memorial Library.
