Burton Wayne Schuckers, 93, died peacefully in his sleep March 2, 2016, at a Bangor, Maine, health care facility.
He was born Dec. 19, 1922, in Emerickville, Pa., the son of Lawrence and Mabel (Stewart) Schuckers.
Burton graduated from Reynoldsville High School in 1941. After a variety of jobs, he joined Sylvania Electric in Brookville, Pa., where he worked as a machine mechanic. In 1971 he and his family moved to Bangor, Maine, where he worked at GTE Sylvania until his retirement in 1986.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Louise; two brothers, Burl and Robert; and his wives, Mildred Jean (Shaffer) and Sue Ann (Caldwell).
He is survived by his daughters, Paula S. Reutershan and husband Don of Hallowell, Maine, and Jana S. Raspante and husband Paul of Surry, Maine; and three grandchildren, Morgan, Patrick, and Katharine; as well as several nieces in Pennsylvania.
He was a member of Hammond Street Congregational Church in Bangor, Maine.
A memorial service was held in Bangor, Maine, on March 12, 2016. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville, with the assistance of the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home of Reynoldsville.
