Catherine E. Rossi, 82, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of 50 Monroe Street, Byrnedale, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015, at Elk Haven after a lengthy illness.
Born April 21, 1932, in Colver, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth Getsey Bukovitz. On April 21, 1951, in Colver, she married Anthony J. "Tony" Rossi. He preceded her in death Sept. 8, 1988.
She attended Colver School and was a graduate of Ebensburg/Cambria High School, Class of 1950.
She had been a resident of Elk County since 1950 and was employed by the St. Joseph's Monastery for 20 years.
Mrs. Rossi was a member of the Queen of the World Church and the Bennetts Valley Senior Center.
She is survived by five daughters: Patricia Ritter and her husband, John, of Weedville; Debbie Meyer and her husband, Glenn, of St. Marys; Terri Lanzel and her husband, Michael, of St. Marys; Annette Geci and her husband, David, of St. Marys; and Donna Clyde and her husband, Ronald, of DuBois; one son, Anthony S. Rossi and his wife, Debbie, of Export; 11 grandchildren: Jeremy Meyer, Jason Meyer, Aaron Lanzel, Kevin Lanzel, Rachel Keron, Sarah Chiesa, Meghan Geci, Kaitlyn Geci, Brianna Clyde, Dominic Rossi and Vincent Rossi; nine great-grandchildren: Parker Meyer, Colby Meyer, Rylee Meyer, Aaron Lanzel, Julian Lanzel, Colin Lanzel, Maddie Lanzel, Anna Lanzel and Makenna Keron; and one brother, Theodore Bukovitz and his wife, Sandy.
She was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Jackson Lanzel; a sister, Dolores "Jeannie" Rito; and two brothers, Michael Bukovitz and Andrew Bukovitz.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Thursday, March 26, 2015, in the Queen of the World Church, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
