Charles L. Guthridge, 71, of Paris Township, passed Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
Charles was born Aug. 6, 1944, in DuBois, the son of Reuben and Mary Ball Guthridge.
He obtained his formal education in DuBois and graduated from DuBois High School in 1963.
In 1965, Charles enlisted into the U.S. Army with his overseas duty served in Thailand as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 21, 1968.
Along with his family, Charles relocated to this area in 1972 to obtain employment at the General Motors Assembly Plant in Lordstown. He retired from his duties as a tow motor operator in 1996. His favorite pastimes were woodworking, playing on the VFW horseshoe league and spending time with his grandchildren.
Charles was an active member of VFW Post 3332, where he served as canteen manager for 10 years.
He was also a member of American Legion Post 236 and Amvets Post 112. Charles was proud to be a member of the Newton Falls Veterans Organization Honor Guard.
Memories of Charles will be carried on by his family, his children, Missy (Alan) Holcknecht, Heather Guthridge, Charlie Guthridge and Evelyn (Bobby) Lilly; his grandchildren, Kristofer, Karissa, Savanna, Miranda, Hanna, Karlee, Colton, Katie-lyn and Miah; and his siblings, Don (Janet) Guthridge, Marian Cian, his twin sister, Velma Clinton and Ron (Sue) Guthridge.
Charles was preceded by his parents, Reuben and Mary; his brothers, Bob, Jim and Joe; and his sister, Marie.
