Charles M. Palmer Jr., age 60, Old Town, Fla., formerly of the DuBois area, died Monday, July 6, 2015, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born Aug. 22, 1954, in Perry, Okla., he was the son of the late Charles M. Palmer, Sr. and Flora I. (Roderick) Palmer.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War.
He made his home with his long-time partner, Mary Bennett.
He was a safety consultant in the gas and oil industry for many years.
Charles was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by a daughter, Kristan Bowers and her husband, Josh; and a son, Scotty Barton, all of Rockton; a sister, Nena Kimball and her husband, Kirby. of West Plains, Mo., and two brothers, Richard Palmer of Colorado City, Texas and Bill Palmer and his wife, Peggy of Taft, Calif.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Diane Dempsey.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rockton Cemetery.
