Cheri Ann Crawford, 78, Beechwoods, died Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born May 24, 1936, in Miami, Fla., she was the daughter of the late George Clair and Freda L. Steele Crawford.
She was a graduate of DuBois High School, class of 1954, and Grove City College, class of 1959, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in education.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, PSI chapter.
Cheri was an active member of the Beechwoods Presbyterian Church, where she served as a member of the choir, Sunday school teacher, youth advisor and elder.
She was a retired teacher, having taught at Luthersburg Elementary for five years and C.G. Johnson in Reynoldsville for 25 years.
She also served as an administrator for several nursing homes in Ohio.
Cheri was a highly regarded teacher who had the ability to reach out to, connect with and inspire her students; she will be remembered fondly and missed sadly by her fellow educators and former pupils.
She is survived by numerous cousins.
Cheri was also preceded in death by her grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Beechwoods Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David and Emily Koehler officiating. Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery, Falls Creek.
Memorial donations may be made to the Beechwoods Presbyterian Church, 14 Beechwood Road, Falls Creek, PA 15840.
