Chester L. Guiher, 91, of Reynoldsville, Pa., died on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at his home in Reynoldsville, Pa.
Born Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1926, in DuBois, Pa., he was the son of the late Thomas R. Guiher and the late Olive L. (Kessler) Guiher. He was the husband of the late Ruth A. (Snyder) Guiher.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Reynoldsville Eagles and the Reynoldsville American Legion Post #392. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.
He is survived by his daughters, Lori Guiher of Reynoldsville, Pa., and Jan Scott (Rick) of Reynoldsville, Pa.; sister, Inez Snyder of DuBois, Pa.; grandson, Jeremy Allshouse of New Bethlehem, Pa.; great-granddaughter, Laince Allshouse of New Bethlehem, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., located at 206 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851, with the Rev. Benjamin Austin officiating. Military honors will be preformed by the DuBois Area Honor Guard following the service. Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery, Reynoldsville, Pa.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home Inc.. Memorial contributions may be sent to the donor's choice of organization.
