Chester "Chet" Llewellyn, 94, of Weedville, Pa., died May 20, 2016, in Ridgway, Pa.
Born March 23, 1922, in Weedville, Pa., he was a son of the late Clyde and Margaret (Tyler) Llewellyn.
On Sept. 14, 1946, he was married to Catherine "Kay" (Romanic). She preceded him in death Jan. 27, 1998.
Chet worked for PRR Railroad for 43 years.
He served in the US Navy during World War II, from 1942-1945.
He was a lifetime member of the Bennetts Valley American Legion, where he served on the Burial Detail for many years, and the VFW.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He lived all his life in Weedville.
Chet is survived by two children: Marcia DeWald of Weedville, Pa. and Dennis Llewellyn of Black Forest, Colo.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Calvin Llewellyn of Penfield, Pa.; one sister, Ethel Panighetti of St. Marys, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Clyde "Jack" Llewellyn; four sisters: Loretta McAfoose, Ann Schaberl, Rosella Shore and Roselyn VanLew.
Friends will be recieved from 5-8 p.m. today, Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, Penfield, Pa. A funeral service will be held, at 11 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at the Weedville Wesleyan Church with the Reverend Bryon Kleppinger. Military honors will be accorded by the Bennetts Valley American Legion Post 978 Burial Detail. Interment will be in St. Joseph Church Cemetery, Force, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Bennetts Valley Ambulance or the Jay Township Volunteer Fire Company and will be accepting online condolences at www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com.
