Cora Belle Smith, 81, Punxsutawney, died Friday, June 9, 2017, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born Nov. 19, 1935, in Grant Township, Indiana County, a daughter of the late Annie I. Mae (Spicher) and Ford W. Treese. She was the last remaining member of her family.
On June 14, 1954, she married Raymond E. Smith, who survives; they were married for 63 years.
She was a member and the pianist at the Grange Church of God for over 60 years.
She was very involved within her church and church functions.
Cora Belle worked as a library aide in the Punxsutawney School District for 32 years and retired in June of 2002.
She was a graduate of Marion Center High School Class of 1954.
She enjoyed volunteering at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital and spending time with her family and grandsons.
In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include two children, son Dennis R. Smith and fiancée Cathy Thompson of Brookville and Cindy Kennedy and husband Dean of Stanton; a grandson, Tyler Smith and wife Lindsay of Punxsutawney; two great-grandsons, Isaac and Caleb Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lacey Jo Ashley Smith; a sister Edna J. Ashbaugh; and three brothers, Blaine, Harry and Murray Treese.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2017, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at the Grange Church of God with Pastor Ken Alt and Pastor John Pennington officiating.
Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Cora Belle, to the Grange Church of God, 97 North Enterline Road, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
