Daniel J. Meehan III, 72, East 2nd Ave., DuBois, died Saturday, July 18, 2015, at his home.
Born Sept. 28, 1942, in Punxsutawney, he was the son of the late Daniel J. and Elizabeth J. (Quinlisk) Meehan. On Sept. 11, 1971, he married Diane M. (Kos) Meehan. She survives.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He retired from United Cerebral Palsy in Falls Creek as head of transportation after many years of service.
Daniel was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. He was also a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17, and he enjoyed going gambling with his wife.
He is survived by 12 siblings: Mary Anne Cameron of Akron, Ohio; Patrick Meehan of Johnson City, Tenn.; Jane Gelnett of Rockton, Doug Russell of Indiana, Pa.; Barbara Flores of Dallas, Texas; Rosie Truance of Rossiter; and Richard Meehan, Cathy Michael, Julie Meehan, Thomas Meehan, James Meehan and John Meehan, all of Punxsutawney.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc., DuBois. A scriptural wake service will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Full military honors will be accorded from the church by the member of the DuBois Area Honor Guard. Burial will follow in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, Sykesville.
Memorial donations may be made to Penn Highlands Hospice, and/or Oncology Hematology Associates, both at 100 Hospital Ave., DuBois, PA 15801.
