Danny L. Probst, 67, of Reynoldsville Pa., formerly of Beech Creek, Pa., passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016, at his residence.
Born Nov. 19, 1948, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late James and Irene Probst. He married Ruthann Litz June 26, 1971.
Danny leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years and two sons, Mark A. (Elizabeth) Probst and Troy L. (Shari) Probst. Grandchildren include Leeanna, Brittany, Ivy, James, Holden, Damien, Caroline, Alyssa, Alexis, Troy Jr., Gracee, Lillian, Colton and one great-grandson. He is also survived by his brothers, Bill and Don, and sisters Mary, Pat, and Nance. He was proceeded in death by two brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter, Angel.
Danny was drafted into the Armed Forces as a Combat Engineer in 1968. He served in Vietnam until 1970. He retired from the military on Jan. 23, 2012, as a Sargent 1st Class. He dedicated 21 years to his country through the Army reserves and the 728th Main Support Battalion National Guard in Lock Haven.
His hobbies included spending time with his grandchildren, building model cars, hunting, and his dogs Goliath and Sarge.
He was also a member of the Beech Creek American Legion and a life member of the VFW in Lock Haven.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville, Pa.
Friends will also be received from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home in Lock Haven, Pa. Graveside service will follow at the Hays Fearon Cemetery in Beech Creek, Pa.
