Darrel Edward Dickey III, "Dink," 55, of Knoxdale, died Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at home with his loving family.
He was born Aug. 17, 1960, in DuBois, the son of the late Darrel Edward Dickey II and F. Joanne (Park) Dickey.
On Aug.25, 1979, he married the former Valarie Esther Loomis. She survives.
"Dink" worked at O&I, which later became Rexam, as a machine hydrolic repair technician, until his retirement.
He was a very generous and good provider for his family. He will be missed as a loving husband and caring father. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, often picking on those closest to him.
"Dink" was a member of the Brookville Fireman's Club, the Fraternal Order of Eagles #983 and Ducks Unlimited.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ice fishing and trapping. He also liked to attend gun raffles, and had amazing luck with lottery tickets.
In addition to his wife, Valerie, he is survived by three daughters: Angela (Peter) Dickey-Nivala of Evergreen, Colo., Stephanie (Gary) Dickey-Kammerdeiner of Brookville and Darrellyn (Ronald) Freeman of Clarion; nine grandchildren; one sister, Darla (Gary) Dickey-Brosius of Brookville.
Preceded in death by his parents and one son, Zebediah Dickey.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Brookville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Guy Felmlee.
Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Knoxdale.
Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Dickey's memory to the Centerhill Community Church or the American Diabetes Foundation.
