David L. Buesink, 79, of 7 Maple Avenue, Ripley, N.Y., passed away on June 11, 2016. Now absent from the body, he is present with the Lord.
He was born in Jamestown, N.Y. on May 2, 1937, the son of the late Marvin W. and Edna M. Wilson Buesink. He was a lifelong resident of Chautauqua County, having been reared in Sherman and a resident of Ripley since 1959. He enjoyed the Lord's blessings, good health, family, and many outdoor activities.
He was a 1955 graduate of Sherman Central School, and he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Tri-State University, Angola, Ind., in 1959. He was 40 years associated with Hill Engineering, Inc. of North East, Pa., where he was President from 1982-1997.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sherman, had attended the First Baptist Church of North East, and in recent years enjoyed the Sunday televised messages of the Reverend Charles Stanley of In Touch Ministries.
On July 26, 1957, he married Lois Marie Brown, his wife of 49 years, who predeceased him in 2006. He was also predeceased by his son, Randy Buesink, and a grandson, Caleb Buesink.
He is survived by a son, Brian Buesink and his wife, Amy, of Brockway, Pa.; a daughter, Jill Odell and her husband, Nathan, of French Creek, N.Y.; a daughter-in-law, Kathryn Buesink of North East, Pa.; and grandchildren, Steven Buesink and his girlfriend, Erin Cunningham, of Indianapolis, Ind., Michael Buesink and his wife, Michelle, of Mars, Pa., Bryce and Alyssa Buesink of Brockway, Pa., Laura, Jacob, Andrew, Luke, and Isaac Odell, of French Creek, N.Y.; and one great-granddaughter, Shannon, of Mars, Pa. He is also survived by a sister, Jane Faye Buesink-Smith, of Fredonia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call at Spitzer Funeral Home, 135 Miller St., Sherman, N.Y., Tuesday evening, June 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, June 15, at 10 a.m., with service to follow at 11 a.m. A private burial will be held at the South Ripley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Berean Bible Society, Germantown, Wis., or Urban Impact Foundation, Pittsburgh, Pa., a ministry that invests in the lives of at-risk youth in order to develop mature, responsible, followers of Christ.
