Delores J. "Dee" Buhite, 61, 348 Rock Dump Road, Reynoldsville, died the night of Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at her home.
Born April 25, 1954, in Brookville, she was a daughter of the late James P. and Dorothy J. Darr O'Harah. On Oct. 20, 1973, she married Mark R. Buhite. He survives.
She was a 1972 graduate of Jeff Tech in Reynoldsville. As an employee of Christ the King Manor she was a certified nursing assistant. She lovingly took care of seniors in their homes in the Punxsutawney and Reynoldsville areas.
Dee, as she was known by family and friends, loved gardening and flowers, sewing, quilting and crafts. She was especially accomplished with puzzles, which are framed and on display at her home.
Dee was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Sykesville, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school and youth groups. She especially enjoyed the nursery and loved to make great homemade meals for family when they gathered at her home.
She is survived by one daughter, Laurie R. (Dustin) Black of Hollidaysburg; two sons, Peter J. (Karie) Buhite of Auburn, Ind. and Benjamin M. Buhite of Fort Wayne, Ind.; four grandchildren; and one sister, Janet L. (Emmit) Dunham of Brookville.
She was also preceded in death by an infant granddaughter and an infant sister.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home, Reynoldsville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the funeral home with Pastor Tharren Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Center Hill Cemetery, Knoxdale.
