Dennis G. Fox, 65, Hoovertown Road, Penfield, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born May 25, 1949, in DuBois, he was the son of the late Gerald and Geraldine Zernell Fox, He was married to Beverly Rio on Nov. 7, 1970. She survives.
He was a graduate of DuBois Area High School, class of 1967 and lived all his life in Penfield.
He served in U.S. Army Reserves for seven years.
He was a heavy equipment operator and foreman in the strip mines and a truck driver for many different companies through the years and most recently MJ Transport Logistics.
He loved spending time with his family. He was known as Papa Denny to his loving golden retrievers, Brie and Brittney.
Survivors also include two daughters, Deana (Brian) LaBorde of Troutville, Heidi (Jared Pannette) Fox of DuBois; a sister, Darlene Bell of Pickerington, Ohio; six grandchildren: Alyssa and Alanna Whelpley, Derek and Rhianna Pannette, Colby and Heather LaBorde; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Fox.
There will be no visitation.
Private services will be held at the family's convenience.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Bennetts Valley Ambulance.
The Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield is in charge of arrangements.
