Donald Edwin Wilson, 71, Hunts Alley, Brookville, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at his home.
Born Feb. 20, 1943, in Brookville, he was the son of the late Bruce E. Wilson and Louise Fetzer Wilson.
He was a veteran serving with the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War from 1961-66.
He was the mayor of Brookville from 1992 to 2001, President of the Brookville Borough Council from 1982 to 1991 and a member of the Brookville Borough Council from 1976 to 1981.
He was a lifetime member of the Pinecreek Vol. Fire Dept., and the Presbyterian Church in Brookville, where he was a past treasurer.
He was a member of the Hobah Lodge No. 276 F&AM of Brookville, and was a 32nd degree Mason, Coudersport Consistory.
He also was a constable and an amateur radio operator.
Survivors include two daughters, Michele "Shelly" Wilson Toomey (Pat) of Monroeville, and Sherry Wilson of Pittsburgh; a sister, Ellen Wilson Heriger of Moon Township; and two grandchildren, Patrick Toomey III and Brandon Toomey.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Carol Wilson Afton.
Friends will be received from 1-5 p.m. today (Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014) at the McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville. A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. Nathan Royster officiating. Burial will be in the Brookville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Presbyterian Church, White and Main Street, Brookville, PA. 15825 or to the Rebecca M. Arthurs Memorial Library, 223 Valley St., Brookville, PA. 15825.
